This is a Virtual Event.Graduate students from more than 80 universities around North, Central and South America, Middle East, Africa and Europe will address pandemic response in a virtual NASPAA-Batten student simulation competition. Developed by the Center for Leadership Simulation and Gaming specifically for students of public policy and administration, the simulation will give participants a chance to employ their knowledge in a realistic situation, as well as an opportunity to hone skills in leadership, negotiation, and critical thinking. This year’s rather timely topic is on Pandemic 2.0, a continuation of the first pandemic simulation deployed in March 2018.
The Ford School's Weiser Diplomacy Center teamed up with the Cornell Institute for Public Affairs, the NYU's Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service, the American University in Cairo, the Central European University and the United Nations University - Merit, to lead the worldwide virtual simulation. More than 220 students will compete in teams of five and three top teams will move on to the global "All Star" round for generous cash prizes. The Ford School's Professor of Practice, Ambassador Melvyn Levitsky will be one of the judges this year, judging his second NASPAA-Batten competition in the Ford School's "Site Zoom Room".
