Deputy Under Secretary for Food, Nutrition, and Consumer Services at the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and Ford School alumna (MPP '92), Stacy Dean, will speak about her journey from U-M and the Ford School to becoming a policy and budget analyst, and now her role at USDA.  

Dean now works to advance the Biden Administration plan to improve nutrition assistance for struggling families and individuals. She will discuss how she evaluates tough issues, like structural racism, in food and nutrition.  

Presented in partnership with the School for Environment and Sustainability, Taubman College of  Architecture and Urban Planning, the School of Public Health, and the Transformative Food Systems Fellowship of the multidisciplinary Sustainable Food Systems Initiative.
