James Kvaal, former deputy director of the White House Domestic Policy Council and an incoming Towsley Foundation Policymaker in Residence at the Ford School, pens “Hillary’s plan protects students: Opposing view,” for USA Today.
Kvaal’s contribution is a response to “Schooling the Clintons: Our view,” an opinion piece by USA Today’s editorial board.
In “Schooling the Clintons,” the USA Today editorial board writes that while Hillary Clinton has criticized and pledged to crack down on for-profit universities, her family and foundation have benefitted substantially from ties to the for-profit Laureate Education.
In “Hillary’s plan protects students,” Kvaal counters that “Hillary Clinton understands that we need tight rules to make sure that colleges only profit by helping students succeed.”
“If you look at her record and tune out the noise,” writes Kvaal, “there is no doubt that as president, that is what she will do.”
