Faith, Spirituality, and Public Policy

Fordies, we welcome you to join us for a gathering on faith, spirituality, and public policy. Led by our very own Ford School professor Dr. Ann Lin, we will talk about the ways faith and spirituality inform our policy commitments and how those same commitments influence our faith and spiritual beliefs and practices. Lunch will be served! 

This event is open to Ford School students, faculty, and staff.

About the facilitator 

Ann Chih Lin is an associate professor of public policy at the Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy and director of the Lieberthal-Rogel Center for Chinese Studies, both at the University of Michigan.

Lin studies policy implementation: the provisions that make policy easy or difficult to implement, the beliefs and behavior of people who implement policies, and the reactions of those who are targeted by policy. She is especially concerned with policy implementation in the context of racial and ethnic difference. Her recent work examines national, racial, and ethnic differences in beliefs, behavior, and the experience of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Ann Chih Lin

Associate Professor of Public Policy; Director, Lieberthal-Rogel Center for Chinese Studies

Lin, a political scientist, studies how people experience policy implementation. Her current work examines racial and ethnic difference in the experience of the COVID-19 pandemic; bias reduction against Muslims; national security scapegoating of immigrant groups; conservatism among immigrants; and subnational labor migration policy.
